Friday night was a tough loss for the Orange Lions as they opened their season at home against Rocky River. Initially the Lions looked poised to come away with a win as they came out red hot. Cade Horvat, junior midfielder, played a great ball to Victor Ononogbo, Orange Lions forward, who proceeded to beat the keeper and slot one home mid way through the first half. The Lions were able to hold off the Rocky River attack going into halftime up 1-0. Early on in the second half the referee made a tough call that led to a penalty kick for Rocky River. This tied it all up at 1-1. Not 5 minutes later the referee awarded a free kick inside the Lions half for the opposition. A well served ball was flicked over Orange keeper, Adam Rosenthal to give Rocky River the lead. Despite much attack late into the second half for the Lions, they were unable to put one in the back of the net. A well fought game, but Orange now sets its sights onto its next match against Mayfield this upcoming Tuesday.
