Orange Lions Varsity Loses Lead Early In Defeat
Orange Lions Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-1 loss to Geneva on Wednesday. Geneva scored on a double by Stoltz and a single by V Varckette in the first inning.
The Orange Lions Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Geneva, giving up 11 runs.
In the first inning, Geneva got their offense started when Stoltz doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Geneva scored four runs in the sixth inning. Varckette, O Varckette, and Hartz each had RBIs in the big inning.
Cersan earned the win for Geneva. He surrendered one run on four hits over six innings, striking out three and walking one.
Arjun Mehra took the loss for Orange Lions Varsity. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out two.
Antonio Baez led Orange Lions Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
Varckette went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Geneva in hits. Geneva was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Wilms had the most chances in the field with eight.
