Multiple Teams · Orange Welcomes New Head Girls Soccer Coach

The Orange Athletic Department would like to welcome Coach Mark Mallon to the Lion Family.  Coach Mallon has a tremendous soccer resume gaining recognition as an All-American Soccer Player at West Chester University. Mallon was selected to be a member of the NASL and named to the Houston Dynamos prior to the league folding for a short time. Mark received a teaching degree from WCU and began a career in physical education & health as a teacher in New Jersey. Coach Mallon left teaching in 1989 and began his collegiate coaching career at Yale University. While coaching the Bulldogs at Yale, Coach Mallon along with Coach Steve Griggs took the team to the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. In 1993, Mark was named as the Head Mens Coach for the University of California, Berkeley. In just three short seasons, Coach Mallon took the Bears from being ranked 150th in the nation to 2nd overall in the nation in 1996. In addition, Coach Mallon is also the founder of the Soccer Institute, he continues to run private training sessions for athletes in the off season and has been certified with the following soccer credentials: USSF- “A” License, NSCAA- “Premier Diploma”, FA Badge for both England and Scotland. We are looking forward to have Coach Mallon and all of his experience at the helm of the Lady Lions Soccer Program.
